Add pic from library locks up

I just bought this app because a professor friend recommended, but when I added a student, then attempted to "add pic from library" I get a blank screen and cannot go back. I exited the app and reopened, but it sent me to the same blank screen. I rebooted my iPhone 5S and attempted to add the pic from library to a student and it gave me the same blank screen.
